Biography

Dr. Kathrin Weiß began to apply herself to the topic of business creation early on in her career: in 2002 she completed her degree in business studies with focus on entrepreneurship and marketing management at the HHL Leipzig and in 2007 she continued on to gain a doctorate at the RWTH Aachen. For seven years prior to founding her own company she worked as a business consultant for McKinsey & Company Inc in Berlin. She is married and has three children aged two, five and seven.
In 2010, together with Dr. Anike von Gagern, she founded her own company called tausendkind. tausendkind now has more than 100 employees, a range of over 60,000 products and with more than 70,000 registered customers is the leading German online shop for baby and children’s items.
